The improved Pro 1206i is a handheld RF bug detector featuring a newly upgraded and redesigned external antenna.  This enhancement allows for better detection of hidden transmitting devices operating within the 50 MHz to 6.0 GHz range.  The revamped professional bug scanner now boasts:
 
A new wideband antenna for finding lower frequency bugs while tripling the detection range for UHF, VHF, and UHF transmitters.
 
A standard micropointer microwave antenna offers a 2-4 times longer detection distance for sources above 2 GHz (including WiFi 2.4 GHz, WiFi 5 GHz, Bluetooth, Wi-Max, and LTE High). Its directional nature allows for easy pinpointing of wireless sources.
 
An expanded dynamic range that quickly responds to weak signals and gradually increases for strong signals, enabling more accurate source location.
 
The updated algorithm further widens the dynamic range, simplifying the location process.  When the bar graph is fully lit, activating the attenuator near a strong source will cause it to drop and then increase, allowing for a more precise location.
Unlike typical searching devices, the Pro 1206i can detect modern hidden bugs using Bluetooth and/or WiFi protocols.  Common RF detectors often miss these due to their low transmission power and unique modulation type.
 
5G SPECTRUM DETECTION
The 5G spectrum operates on two types of bands:
Sub 6.0 GHz: These frequencies can penetrate obstacles like walls and windows, making them the primary choice for mobile terminals in urban settings (used in 90% of cases).
 
mmWave: While offering high-speed data, these frequencies only work in direct line of sight with base stations and are typically used in open spaces or for exchanges between large and small local stations.
 
The Pro 1206i can detect the sub 6.0 GHz frequencies.  The mmWave frequencies are more challenging to detect and less likely to be used for indoor bugging.
 
The Pro 1206i also features a separate channel with a high 2.44 GHz frequency pre-selector, allowing for heightened sensitivity in detecting and locating specific devices.  It can spot all types of conventional bugging devices, including GSM audio bugs, FM-modulated transmitters, and digital transmitters.
 
The device uses a multi-channel LED bar graph to show each transmitter's signal strength and emits an audio tone to help you pinpoint the transmitter's location.
