Double Wall Socket Voice Activated Recorder; with 75 Days Standby Time
 
This mains-powered Double Wall Socket is integrated with a voice-activated recording system while operating as a regular power supply.  An integrated sensitive microphone will pick up audio approx 25 feet from where the Double Wall Socket is fitted, and stores each separately recorded sound file to its internal flash memory for later playback.
 
NO NEED TO REMOVE THE SOCKET
Once deployed, there is no further requirement to remove the Double Wall Socket.  The charging port, microphone and ON | OFF mechanism can be accessed from the underside lip of the socket for convenience.
 
The recording mechanism can be enabled and disabled at any time.  The microphone will actively monitor for sound above an average 50-60 dB threshold.
 
With a standby time of 75 days (standby time = the length of time the device can remain powered without recording) and a total recording time of 72 hours (whichever limit is reached first), the Double Wall Socket is ideal for short to medium term audio evidence gathering.
 
EASY AUDIO FILE ACCESS
Without removing the Double Wall Socket, the supplied magnetic USB cable easily connects to the bottom lip of the socket and then to a Windows or Mac computer or laptop where audio files can be accessed and played back and transferred for safekeeping.  No special software is required to play audio files.
 
TIME AND DATE STAMP
Each recorded audio file can be stamped with a time and date, making it easier to identify specific activities.  Please note the time and date can only be set using a Windows computer.
 
HOW VOICE ACTIVATION RECORDING WORKS
The internal recording chipset is designed to automatically start and stop recording when sounds or voices are detected above an average room threshold (50-60 dB).  Audio recordings continue until a period of silence, and then that audio file is stored in its internal flash memory in chronological order.
Voice-activated recording reduces the need to trawl through hours and hours of audio while maintaining battery performance.
 
Note: Voice-activated recorders should ideally be used in quiet room environments to reduce the number of recorded files.  For example, if deployed near a radio, television, air vent or other noisy environments, the Double Wall Socket will detect these sounds and start/stop recordings filling the memory much faster than deployed in a quiet room.
